The Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (BCECEB) has officially released the notification (Advt No. BCECEB/Health/JR/2025/01 & 02) for the recruitment of Junior Residents for the 2026 cycle. This recruitment is for a 1-year tenure in various Medical Colleges and Hospitals under the Health Department, Government of Bihar. the Health Department. A total of 1,445 vacancies are available for eligible medical candidates across Bihar.

✔️ Candidate must hold an MBBS degree from a Medical Council of India / National Medical Commission (NMC) recognized institute.

💸 Application Fee

The fee is uniform for all categories to cover counseling and processing costs:

  • All Categories: ₹2,250/-
  • Payment Mode: Online (Debit Card, Credit Card, Net Banking, or UPI).

📥 How to Apply

  1. Visit Official Portal: Go to bceceboard.bihar.gov.in.
  2. Registration: Click on the “Online Portal of Junior Resident” link. Register with your own mobile number and email to receive OTPs.
  3. Fill Details: Log in with your Registration No. and Password. Complete the personal and educational (MBBS marks, internship, etc.) sections.
  4. Upload Documents: Upload scanned copies of your high-contrast color photograph and signature.
  5. Payment & Submit: Review the form, pay the fee, and click Final Submit.
  6. Printout: Download and print the Hard Copy (Part-A & Part-B) of the application. You do not need to send this to the office, but it is mandatory for the counseling process.

🧾 Selection Process

Selection for BCECE Junior Resident 2026 will be based primarily on shortlisting and merit list as per eligibility criteria and document verification. Further details will be available closer to exam/interview stages.

📂 Mandatory Documents for Counseling

The counseling programme is expected to be published on February 11, 2026. You must bring the original documents plus one set of self-attested photocopies.

1. Academic & Professional Records

  • Matriculation (10th) Certificate/Mark sheet: For proof of Date of Birth.
  • MBBS Mark sheets: All parts (I, II, and III), including failure mark sheets if any.
  • MBBS Passing Certificate: Original/Provisional degree.
  • Attempt Certificate: Issued by the college head.
  • Internship Completion Certificate: Mandatory for residency.
  • Medical Registration Certificate: Permanent registration with Bihar Medical Council or State Medical Council/NMC.
  • FMGE Passing Certificate: (Only for candidates who completed MBBS abroad).

2. Identity & Residency

  • Hard Copy of Application (Part-A & Part-B): The confirmation page downloaded after submission.
  • Residential Certificate: Issued by the C.O./B.D.O./Revenue Officer of your permanent residence in Bihar.
  • Photo ID: Aadhaar Card, PAN Card, etc.
  • Photographs: Four identical passport-size photos (same as uploaded in the form).

3. Category/Quota Certificates (If applicable)

  • Caste Certificate: With Non-Creamy Layer (NCL) for BC/EBC candidates.
  • EWS Certificate: For Economically Weaker Section candidates.
  • Disability Certificate (DQ): For candidates applying under the PwBD quota.
  • Freedom Fighter Certificate: For wards/grandchildren of freedom fighters.

⚠️ Critical Reminders

  • No Changes After Deadline: After the correction window closes on February 8, no requests for changes in the reservation category or personal details will be entertained.
  • NOC: If you are currently in government or private service, you must provide a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from your employer during counseling.
  • Salary: Successful candidates will be appointed for a 1-year tenure with a fixed salary of ₹65,000 per month.
