📖 Subject-Wise Syllabus Details
1. General Intelligence & Reasoning
This section tests analytical aptitude and the ability to observe and distinguish patterns.
- Key Topics: Analogies, Similarities and Differences, Spatial Visualization, Spatial Orientation, Visual Memory, Discrimination, Observation, Relationship concepts, Arithmetical Reasoning, Figural Classification, Arithmetic Number Series, Non-verbal series, and Coding-Decoding.
2. General Knowledge & General Awareness
Questions are designed to test the candidate’s general awareness of the environment around them and its application to society.
- Key Topics: Sports, History, Culture, Geography, Economic Scene, General Polity, Indian Constitution, and Scientific Research.
- Note: A significant portion of this section focuses on India and its neighboring countries.
3. Elementary Mathematics
This section includes problems relating to number systems and basic high-school mathematics.
- Key Topics: Number Systems, Computation of Whole Numbers, Decimals and Fractions, Relationship between Numbers, Fundamental Arithmetical Operations, Percentages, Ratio and Proportion, Averages, Interest (Simple & Compound), Profit and Loss, Discount, Mensuration, Time and Distance, Ratio and Time, and Time and Work.
4. English / Hindi
Candidates can choose to attempt this section in either English or Hindi. It tests basic comprehension and language skills.
- Key Topics: Error Spotting, Fill in the blanks (Articles, Prepositions, etc.), Synonyms & Antonyms, Cloze Test, Phrase and Idiom meaning, One-word substitution, Spellings, and Reading Comprehension.
The SSC GD Constable 2026 examination is a Computer Based Test (CBT) scheduled to begin on February 23, 2026. With the exam just a few weeks away, understanding the subject-wise weightage and specific topics is crucial for final revision.

💡 Preparation Strategy for 2026
Since you are in the final month before the exam:
- Time Management: Practice solving 80 questions in 50 minutes during mock tests to leave a 10-minute buffer for the actual exam.
- Negative Marking: Avoid guessing. Because the negative marking is 0.25, accuracy is more important than the number of attempts.
- Mock Tests: Focus on previous year papers (2024 and 2025) to understand the recent trend of questions asked by the SSC.
